Here I Was

at the end of America...no more land...and nowhere was nowhere to go but back.

For No Good Reason

Slash sighting at the Landmark. Watched For No Good Reason -- a doc on painter Ralph Steadman, conspirator with Hunter S. Thompson.

I need to check out Rembradt's self-portraits. He painted his entire life, stage by stage.

Grateful Dead -- Europe 1972 Tour

It's April. In the spring of '72 the Grateful Dead crossed the pond for a European tour.  One of their best. Concert halls and four hour performances. The tour bridged the gap. The end of Pigpen, and the ushering in of Donna Jean & Keith.

Bozos and Bolos.

Lay The Favorite

I can't believe that Stephen Frears really directed that movie?!? I think what happened was Frears (a degen) got down big, and was able to settle his debts by agreeing to direct the film. That's the only explanation for his involvement in this turd.

Other turds:
*Rebecca Hall. The worst actress alive with this performance. She should have burned the dailies.
*Catherine-Zeta Jones. Didn't even realize she was in the movie 'til the end credits. Thought it was Teri Hatcher with bad plastic surgery-wannabe.

I couldn't believe that Vince Vaughn pops up in the movie. What happened? This really is the same Stephen Frears who directed The Grifters, The Hit, The Queen, etc...
